Gulf Coast Favorites: 30-Minute Recipes from My Louisiana Kitchen (Trim & Terrific)

As the owner of approximately 500 cookbooks, I can say this is a real gem of a cookbook! I live in the "Coastal Bend" area of Texas (near Corpus Christi) and my husband reliably brings home fantastic fresh speckled trout, redfish, and flounder. I had purchased Holly Clegg's Gulf Coast Favorites a couple of years ago, but it unfortunately got buried under other cookbooks. When I recently adopted a WeightWatchers "Points System"-style eating plan for my husband and myself, I was delighted when I REdiscovered this cookbook! Since each recipe includes nutritional information, I simply use my "WW Points Calculator" to calculate points and jot it down next to the recipe. I have been very pleased with the very low point count for almost all of the recipes that interest me. The cookbook itself includes many mouth-watering photos which only serve to make you want to hurry to try the recipes. Some of my personal favorites are "Simply Sensational Fish Carlysle" (page 117, 5 points), "Shrimp, Mango, and Avocado Salad" (page 73, 4 points), and "Southwestern Breakfast Bake" (page 44, 3 points). There are so many, many more I can't wait to try! I have recommended this cookbook to several friends and can't wait to give copies as gifts.

I love Holly’s cookbooks. Recipes are healthy and easy to follow. Just like Holly, her recipes are trim and terrific. This is a great girlfriend gift!Geaux Holly!

This is a great cookbook. A lot of delicious recipes converted into shaving a lot of fat out of them. Holly did a fantastic job. Highly recommended.

As a Registered Dietitian I appreciate the expertise of a fellow professional. I have tried many of these recipes in the past when they appeared in the local paper. Decided to by the cookbook so I would have a complete collection.Directions are clear and concise. Recipe product at or above what I anticipated. RIP Holly. Your legacy lives on.

One of the few cookbooks I can say it took me 85% into the book before I found something not to my family's taste. A very good cookbook representing the regional very well
