Works well with Polar H7
I have been using Polar straps for over 10 years, but wanted to try a more cost effective option. Both the Polar soft strap and more expensive pro strap break in about 6months of regular use (I train 4-6x/wk). The polar pro has some grip dots throughout the strap that kept it in place better during JiuJitsu and the dots on this Shanren strap do the same thing. The snaps fit the Polar H7 perfectly. I find the hook placement more convenient to put on as it is closer to the edge of the electrodes; no more contorting trying to hook it or snap it closed as with the Polar. Both the Polar soft strap and the pro strap break after 6mo with the electrodes detaching from the elastic. Going through their warranty process and paying for shipping is annoying. For a true cost comparison, the polar pro costs twice as much as this Shanren strap, and you have to add the USPS shipping and 10 day downtime every 6 months when it breaks.Since Polar stopped replacing their straps after a year, if this strap lasts a year I am ahead.I will update this review if it breaks before then.Update: strap finally needed replacing May1, 2022. Again I put it through the paces wearing it while grappling under a rashguard. Excellent durability.

No need to spend $$$ on the name brand strap - this works fine!
Purchased as a replacement for the strap that came with my Garmin HRM. So far I like this one better because the point of closure is off center near the front making it much easier to put on / take off than the original. With the original Garmin strap, the hook closure was centered at the back and the strap often loosened a bit when I'd twist it around my chest after securing it.I can only guess at the accuracy of either chest strap when used with my HRM, so I only gave it 4 stars to be fair (same as I'd rate the original).

Bought this to replace the band for my husband Polar monitor
My husband asked me to "fix" his Polar monitor chest strap. The elastic was wavy from being stretched out and the hook was kind of broken. Could I have shortened it to make it tight again? Sure. Could I have bought a new hook at the craft store and put that in...yes. Let's face it...it's just easier to buy a new strap. This one is actually a lot nicer than the one that came with the Polar HR monitor. Granted he bought it several years ago. This one has the silicone grip to help keep it in place and the elastic seems to be a heavier weight (the old could just be thin from age and use IDK). For less than $20 i'll just buy him a new one every 3 or 4 years. The Polar HR monitor snapped right on - he's a happy camper.

Doesn't work
I have seven total straps. Half are polar, the other half are knock off versions. This is the only strap that consistently does not pick up my heart rate. At first, I thought it was my battery but I've since ruled that out. I regret this purchase.Edit : its been a while since I left this review. I was randomly looking at my reviews today and noticed that this review is blocked because of a "sensitivity" filter. I figure the seller is doing some shady stuff to raise their average review, but can't say for certain. What I can say is I wish this strap was as sensitive (picked up hr) as a Amazon's shady review system.

Way better than standard issue from the box
My studio sold the heart rate monitor with the strap, but after just a couple of uses (rinsed with water after each use) it stop working. Me rinsing the old strap may have contributed to it wearing out quicker, but nonetheless, this new strap has surpassed my old once, so definitely sticking with these in the future. Works with Orange Theory and ILKB heart monitors.

Fits Wahoo TICKR
Fits the Wahoo Tickr even though it doesnt 'close' at the mounting point for the transmitter. It has a hook strap off to one side which is more secure. When working out with weights, there have been times I've bashed the HR Transmitter and knocked the whole strap off. While its possible to bash the transmitter and knock it loose, the strap will stay on you.

Inaccurate, wears out quickly
Even with pre-wetting the part of the strap that picks up the chest wall signal, it often takes 5-10 minutes for this strap to provide accurate data. Also seems in general to wear out quickly—within a few months (with gentle hand washing only). Would recommend buying a more reliable brand...

Works well with Orange Theory Monitor
Works better than my four month old chest strap that came with my Orange Fitness Core HR monitor. Perhaps a bit more comfortable but it is almost exactly the same width (though the picture makes it look wider). My only quibble is that the snaps aren't as tight. Adjusting it in class a couple times, I've disconnected one side. Of course it works better so I don't have to adjust as much...
