Ancient Cookware, Mexican Clay Flat Cazuela Pot, Small, 3 Quarts

Been on the fence about buying this as I bought one from my local Mexican grocery store already. I finally bought this and I’m glad I did! I wish I bought this sooner. Such a beautiful work of art. This cazuela doesn’t smell like paint like my other pot does. I will feel great cooking from this and knowing it is lead free! I may buy the bean pot next.

I bought this after years of watching Rick Bayless Mexico one plate at a time. I followed his instructions and seasoned the pot as he nstructed. I feel nd myself use ng this beautiful pot roast n the stovetop and I n the oven. The results are much like a crock pot, and clean up is a breeze. Yes, you have to treat it gently, but worth the effort. I have made chicken, pork, beef, and vegetarian dished in it and everything was moist and delicious.

I purchased this because I wanted to experiment with clay (I’m told it cooks food evenly). It lived up to its name. From browning to the final product there were no spots in the food where I found the heat appeared to be higher.My rice turned out perfect! It didn’t stick to the bottom either.My husband is Puerto Rican and they love a crispy layer at the bottom of the pot of rice, if that’s what you’re looking for... this pot is NOT for you.My one complaint is i think I burned the clay a little but it didn’t change the flavor of my food (see picture). These clay pots are not made with lead.

Yes, yes, yes! I have all but thrown out my aluminium pots. I have used this one probably every day sense I've received it. Best tasting food I've made yet and I feel safe using this. Thank you for this quality product!
