High quality line counter
One of the better line counters out there IMHO (6500LC)1: there is no play in the reeling, very solid and smooth2: solid construction. All pieces seem well machined and solidly build and assembled. No flex in the reel whatsoever3: all buttons and levers have very confident action, solid4: lightweight compared to some of the other round reels that ABU Garcia makes.only downside I see is if you want to cast with it. It does not freewheel well at all even with the cast control completely out, but that's not this reels prime objective so I wont subtract for that.

550CL
I have several of these reals that are over 30 years old, and used in salt water. They all function like new. Great reel priced Right.

Simply work....
Well built. These ar Not their outsourced stuff but made in Sweden. Simple to clean and maintain and these just work. I have the 5500 and 6500.

Love the Abu C3's
I love the C3 Abu Garcia reels. I now have 10 of them and they have caught everything from kokanee to sturgeon. Great drags and easy to work on. Just remember the C3's are not the same as the S models. The C3's are made in Sweden and the S models are made in China. This is a great little linecounter that will make a great trout reel but spooled up with braid it would work great trolling for salmon too. Honestly if I were going to do that I would go with the 6500 though.

Just Right
I need a reel that allows repeatable line release and is not too heavy as I wish to hold it while trolling. This reel is small enough with an excellent drag. Keep in mind that this reel will holds over 200 yards of 10-20 lb superbraid which is more than enough line for any trolling on freshwater lakes.I have filled this reel with 20lb Suffix 832 and it holds over 300 yards! The line counter reset seems a bit sticky so I gave it four stars

Very nice and smooth
Very nice and smooth, will hold 5 colors of 18 pound lead core ''tuff line'' or 10 colors of 15lb suffix 832 lead core.

Didn’t do what I wanted
When I stopped the line and then tried to put Out more line it would not let me I had to reel the whole line back in

Very well built!
Using on 7' medium trolling rods with in-line planers. The smaller size is perfect and still holds plenty of line. Only minor issue is i don't like the clicker switch - hands are usually wet and it's difficult to slide the switch (prefer the flip style) but overall it's bulletproof and very easy to take apart and service
