This little guy is a smaller version of the live "Petey the parakeet" that I once had.
I'm 75 years old, but when I was 14 mama an daddy bought me a parkeet for my birthday. He was tame, and quite a character. Also too smart for his own good. Once a day, I'd set his cage in a shady spot in the back yard. One day he figured out how to unlatch the cage door.When I went out to get him, he flew up on a tree branch, and said "Hello, Petey's a pretty bird, Petey's a smart boy". I tried to coax him back into the cage, but he wasn't having any of that. Nex thing I knew, he flew off and I never saw him again.So that's why I treasure this little trinket holder. It's about 5" tall, heavy and very well made. This one is in my computer room where I spend most of my time, but I think I'll get one for my bedroom. Then I can say good morning and then good night to him every evening.
