Spark (Swipe Series)

A surprise, but the best one yet!
I went through the first three books in under a day each, so I was on tenterhooks waiting for this one. It was not what I was expecting - in the best way possible! Usually authors of big series play it safe and the middle books get kind of boring, but book four of the Swipe series takes you to the other side of the world and introduces you to a whole new set of characters who have never met Logan, Lily, and the rest of the gang from the earlier books. Nevertheless, I think Spark is my favorite book of the four.Without giving any spoilers, let me just say that I really liked the new characters and plotlines (especially Ali, who is very relatable and funny, if somewhat wise beyond her years). There are also a lot of really creative sci-fi ideas in the book, which open up whole new perspectives on the world of the AU/EU (and beyond!). By the end of the book, I could clearly see how Spark fits into the overall story, with a vague sense of the shape of things to come. I'm SO excited to see how Mr. Angler weaves the threads of this book into the others going forward. More Ali, please! So in short - I was surprised and delighted by the turn the story has taken with Spark! Mr. Angler is a very talented writer with great ideas that make you think, and the risk he took with this book definitely paid off. Loved it, 5 stars, can't wait for the next one!

Quoting my daughter "Best book yet!"
When my daughter saw that this book only had two reviews she asked me to please get online and write one for her since she's only twelve years old and has limited Internet access. The following review is coming from her."I read all the other books in this series. I read each book in under two days. I loved each of them and this one did not disappoint. It went in a completely different direction than I was expecting but in a good way. I also liked getting a better view of one of the main characters and seeing what happened in his life that caused him to make the decisions that he has made up to this point. Overall, this is one of my favorite books."

Garbage
This book is trash. There are so many things that are totally messed up about it.-A brand new main character. Evan Angler spent three books on Logan and the Dust, and then spent the last book in the series entirely focused on Ali, a character who we had not seen at all (unless you count the last few pages of Storm, in which Logan had an interaction with an unnamed girl whom we later find out was Ali).-Not nearly enough of the previous characters. Logan and Peck appear as minor supporting characters, and the rest of the Dust appear only once. There wasn't even the slightest mention of Lily.-The introduction to the Dark Lands and the Tinchers was extremely confusing.-Nobody needed all the junk spoken in the other language, or the 3 1/2 pages dedicated to computer code, seriously?!-Revelation doesn't mention anything about a "Toter of Light". Not that the series has to follow Revelation exactly, but Peck was talking about all the "prophecies" and "signs" that a Toter of Light was coming.-This book comes far from bringing the series to a good conclusion. There needed to be some kind of resolution with Lily, and most of all Logan, who remains trapped in the Ultranet.-This book had an entirely different writing style than the previous book; it didn't feel like the same author wrote it.

Best series for teens
As a mom I struggle to find books that are good for my teen children. Most are dark and have a message that I prefer not to share with them. These books share a message of faith and prepare our children for the issues that may come in the future. Should you take the Mark of the Beast? Christians know the answer to this. This is a story of Christian children who have decided not to get it but that decision has implications.

Really out there
Really enjoyed this series. This fourth book was really out there. Strange, but enjoyable. I didn't necessarily like the text and conversation in Ali's language. I couldn't make sense of it, but the story was still mesmerizing. There has to be another book coming, but when? Good YA reading.

Great for Youth and Adults
Another edge of your seat Post Apocolyptic/Dystopian novel from Evan Angler. This story continues on where the last left off, but also gives us some more back story, I believe on our Anti-christ character. There is also some interesting "internet" stuff. This book is set across the ocean from the first books, and thankfully, ties everyone together at the end. I can't wait for the next one!!!

HORRIBLE
I LOVED the first 3 books in this series and was SO exited for this 1 to finlly come out and when I read the prologue .. It was about this monster atticing this russin dude ! Then it,s about a totally diffrent person and then-OH GLORIOUS THEN- it gives you a GLIMPSE of a main chrector .. and this is like 75% through the bok ! It says nothing about the russian guy and the monster and ALL of th hackers, gang members, (good gang) exiting ppl, and the maon chrectors just end up being regulr school kids. All boring and weird and queit. And did I mentiln like 35 pges of the book is like compuyer hacking like this -ghz250/$71:!'- THe WHOlE TIME. And then ... the min person is yrpped eternkily in a computer program. -.- HORRIBLE dOnT GET IT IT IS a WASTE

Strange - quite different from the others.
I've enjoyed this series, but I found this one a bit weird. I missed the other characters too.
