Industrial
I wanted a basic fan that moved a decent amount of air. This things a beast. The only negative is the controller.....it's ugly and huge. I can't imagine anyone using it in their home. I bought a regular fan controller from home depot, forget the brand but it was around $30 and it works perfect. Plus it matches the other switches so it looks factory original. Great fan for $65, add the cost of the switch....hard to say how great of a deal it is then but the fan itself....on high it almost sounds like a helicopter...pretty cool!

Awesome Minimalistic fan
Purchased this fan as we didn't want any additional lighting, and it looked as if it would not collect a ton of dust. Installed it, and love it! Moves a ton of air in our larger living room. I will say you need to buy a fan controller, unless you want to use the one that came with it. The one that is included, looks like it is left over from a WWII bunker. Otherwise, a great fan.

Pretty nice fan for the money
Installation was easy and it works great. As others have noted, the speed control that mounts on the wall is like something from the cold war years so I replaced it with a 3 speed Lutron control (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000BYEFA/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).I am keeping it on the middle speed setting because the low is very slow and the high is a little distracting. Doesn't appear to be a way to reverse the fan either. One note: Had a hard time getting it balanced using conventional wood blade techniques. Couldn't get weights to make much difference anywhere along the middle of any of the three blades. I almost gave up but as a last resort I tried the weights at the outermost end of 2 of the three blades and Viola! it balanced perfectly. Not a bit of wobble.

Great price works great
Just what I was looking for my shop 30' X 40' X 13 foot ceilings, I needed to bring down the heat. On the lowest setting and it circulates the heat down with out causing a draft. Very pleased

DON'T DO IT!!
So I bought two of these for our living room. I debated on the purchase after reading mixed reviews but decided to order them anyways based on the price and industrial look. Well, they suck. If you are looking to use them in your house DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME, FOR REAL, JUST DON'T. These would be great for commercial use as they do move the air around quite well, but for residential use, they don't suit. The fans are very loud (think of a white noise machine amp'd on full blast), WOBBLY, and the canopy and other housing over the motor don't sit flush. Honestly, I could have dealt with the noise, but not with the wobbling and the cover things not sitting flush. I had these installed by a professional, licensed electrician and he couldn't get them balanced after multiple attempts. So he uninstalled and I put them back in the box and returned them. Total waste of time and money spent on install.Side note on the wall control box. As other reviews stated, the box is hideous 70's style. I got a different wall control as suggested and it worked fine. Those are being returned as well since I returned the fans.

Great air mover.
Fan is noisy and moves lots of air. Just what I wanted! Fan control is boxy and overkill, but does the job in my shop, an industrial designer would have not problem improving it.

Works, cheap but not fast and doesn’t move a lot of air
Installed easy peasy in my garage with high ceilings to help circulate hot air from heater or for cooling down in summer. Works fine but doesn’t spin very fast and doesn’t move a ton of air. Pics show a kilowatt which is how much current it’s pulling on different speeds. The speed controller is bulky and huge but seems to work fine. I also tried with a wall switch to bypass the speed controller and it did not increase the speed at all compared to fasted setting on the controller (5). I thought the controller was limiting current even at highest setting but I was wrong and it’s just low powered.
