Works well but gets hot
I'd read a lot about how hot these transceivers can get, but was surprised at how quickly it heated up. I am using this to connect RJ45 into a QNAP which only has SFP+ ports. Works fine for speed and I've not had any stability issues, but I'm also not transferring loads of data so the heat was surprising. But considering what this is doing at an electronics level, it's understandable. I'll be researching options or ideas to try find cooler options or might just direct a fan to actively cool it.

Does what it says
I bought this to connect to a TP-Link SX3008F switch so I could setup the unit.Whilst the switch did need manually forcing into 1Gbit/s mode I can't blame this module for that and once connected it worked exactly as expected without any issues

Good value SFP module - 10Gbps over copper
Good value SFP module, works well with Unifi hardware eg. UDM Pro and allows 2.5Gbps that Ubiquiti's own module didn't support. Maintains a 10Gbps connection over short cat 5 cable runs too.

If you only need it to work for a few months, buy it. It won't work for much longer than that.
Delivered 23 November, broke on 4th of March. I'm guessing it got some sort of short circuit as it sent my homelab haywire with spanning tree problems and loop protection issues. As soon as I connected the RJ45 directly into the switch, all the problems disappeared. Replicated the issue multiple times with different cables and ports. Poor quality.

Lasted four months before malfunctioning
Bought this in January 2025, worked until a week ago (early May). It's always run hot but now causes intermittent data transfer after being installed and used for a few minutes. I switched it into another SFP port but it exhibits the same behaviour. This was the first time trying a QSFPTEK module, all my others are ipolex. Those have worked fine for years now. This QSFPTEK module lasted 4 months.Update: QSFPTEK contacted me after reading this review and asked for more information on my module (S/N, photo etc) and the switch it was installed in. They sent me a replacement module free-of-charge (that I've not yet used) and I am returning the faulty module to them for investigation. Customer support 5* - hopefully my device was a dodgy one.I'm running with an ipolex module for the last month without issue, I'll update my review if I switch over to the QSFPTEK and have some long term testing to report.
