Easy to use in an emergency
I wanted to replace our outdated fire extinguishers, and decided to go with these instead. I have always been absolutely certain that, in an actual emergency, I would panic and be unable to figure out how to use the traditional extinguisher. These are perfect. I know how to use a spray can, have done it many times, and should be able to do it easily under stress. As recommended in the reviews, I used a sharpie to draw arrows on the spray buttons. I now have one near the dryer and one near the stove - and hopefully I'll never have to use either one!

Saved my wooden deck
While cooking on my griddle, a silicon cooking tool slipped too close to a burn and caught fire. The tool fell into some brush and quickly spread. The fire started on my wooden deck. Fortunately, I had these fire extinguishers handy. It took two of them but they did a great job putting out the flames. I then had time to follow-up with a garden hose. I keep these in my workshop, RV, and near my deck.

If your building management is incompetent, old, non-compliant, etc its a 1 payment insurance policy. Could be improved.
It would be useful if these were designed to handle larger fires more effectively. Does handle mid size fires without a problem typically. Had somebody almost burn down my apartment building a few months ago. People need to take responsibility for their own fire safety when its possible. Also always report non-compliance/violations. Not only can you save lives but often in many locations you might be entitled to compensation. Taking responsibility for your own fire safety is especially important if you live in an apartment complex that is old, poorly maintained, noticeably non-compliant and or just generically has basically criminally negligent/incompetent management its absolutely essential that you take efforts to reduce your threat risks. You likely buy insurance. Items like this are a 1 payment policy that could save your life, your family, as well as many others depending upon the situation. There are potentially ways these items are tax deductible in many places like the US also. If you find a standard full size extinguisher with a less industrial appearance, more stylish/discrete id recommend you go for that assuming its as effective or more so when compared to a standard full size. They arent widely available/easily found at the moment, especially if you need something affordable but thats an obvious market and it would potentially save a good number of lives. Do you have the engineering/.design background? Form a company get a kickstarter going if First Alert hasnt brought something to market at the time that you are reading this.

Expiration Dates
I ordered two sets of these fire extinguishers, one for each of our cars and two for the house. They're compact and fit well in the trunk. Hopefully we'll never need to use them. But it's good to know they're there if needed. I do have an issue with the expiration dates on the canisters, one set needs to be replaced September of '28 and the other August of '29. I would have been happier if both the expiration dates were 2029. Conversely if they both had expiration dates of 2028 I wouldn't have been any the wiser. Other than that, good item to have on hand. I rate the concept five stars.

Not intended for campfires
I keep one of these with my camping stuff in case cooking grease catches while I'm cooking in the woods or something. One of my friends was too lazy too haul water to put out the campfire one night and used this instead. The fire did go out but this little can is not the right size for a big fire. The product works great and should be enough for your kitchen or crafting with a small torch needs but if you are in an environment that might have a large fire you are worried about please buy a proper full size extinguisher.
