It's "good"
After receiving this and putting it together, I noticed they changed the design a little bit for the better. Some reviews mentioned the mounting plate that screws to the seat was plastic. Mine is now metal. For the height adjustment, you now insert two bolts through the post instead of one and tighten easier to grip knobs instead of a small wingnut. Also, I noticed a few reviews had pictures with rusty stems. They must have made improvements because mine was brightly polished chrome and was wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap with not a hint of rust. Now, that being said...It's a budget-friendly, entry-level throne. I purchased this for my 8 year old, 70 lb beginner drummer. I find it odd that people have pictures with $1000+ drum kits but decide to buy a budget throne. He's an entry-level drummer, so I bought an entry-level throne. If he was a hard-core, seasoned drummer I'd have purchased something more appropriate for his skill level and investment into drumming. If he sticks with it and this falls apart, I'll upgrade it.I'm 6'-1", 200 lbs and tried it after putting it together. It seemed solid and didn't wobble but I won't be the one pounding on drums for 3 hours. I sat on it at a higher height, then lowered it to my son's height. Using basic logic, I definitely would not suggest this seat for a "larger" adult and would not suggest this seat for a serious drummer performing gigs or long sessions. Like with most things, buy a product to fit your use-case. Just as you don't buy a Fisher-Price hammer to build houses with, you shouldn't buy an entry-level, light-weight seat if you're 250 lbs or a professional musician. That being said, I see this as a good "first throne" for younger kids and even teens. For its price-point, it's comfortable "enough" and sturdy "enough".NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions, failing to read the product details prior to purchasing or someone's inexperience or lack of skill. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

Review update: Great customer service, great chair (Broken out of the box.)
The media could not be loaded. Donner reached out to me about my experience and immediately offered to send a new throne. It got to me quickly and at no extra cost to me. The new throne was not broken like the previous one and was assembled quickly and easily. Donner allowed me to keep the old throne, so I'll try to make an effort to fix it, but there's no need really. The customer service is fantastic, responed quickly and rectified all problems I had. I recommended this company for the customer service alone. Now onto the the quality of the throne. There were some pictures floating around of what looks like rust on the inside of the rods, and it's true. Both of mine had that, but really doubt it's an issue. The swivel of the throne could use some oil for lubrication. As it stands the swivel is a bit stiff. Bottom line though this is a great chair. It's comfortable for its purpose, though I'll be using it all over my house.I absolutely recommend this as a cheaper alternative to more expensive thrones. If you're a beginner don't waste your money on the more expensive stuff, this will more than serve you enough.Old review:Really wanted to use this chair, but the screw hole was broken, so that when you try to unscrew it the screw would just turn without actually coming unscrewed in the hole. Very disappointing.

very comfortable, very sturdy
Love this chair for playing any instrument. Piano, guitar, harp - only wish it had wheels to move around more easily, but then it probably wouldn't be as stable.

Really Sturdy Throne
I've been playing drums for a few decades. I've had the really cheap, somewhat cheap even all the way up to the really expensive thrones with hydraulics. I bought this throne for one of my practice kits so that I wouldn't have to unpack my main throne all of the time. I am currently typing this review sitting on this throne at my desk just to emphasize how comfortable this throne is. I'm really impressed with how this throne stands up to a "major" brand throne that I own that I paid nearly double the price.
