Light GREY Uber Goop Dishwasher Rack Coating/Glue w/25 caps …

I bought this to repair the exposed and rusty tines on my dishwasher racks, which had permanently stained my dishes. There were also a few places on the rack frames that were exposed and rusted, too. I bought the kit that had 25 tips and a bottle of liquid about the size of a bottle of nail polish. I had to spend a good amount of time cleaning up the damaged areas with a Dremmel tool, and many of the tines had damage below the area the tip would cover. I half expected the tips on these to come off the first time running the machine after the repair. The instructions recommended covering the bottle while using the brush, so I wore a nitrite glove and kept my thumb over the opening while I was painting on the product and fitting the tips. The product does dry fast but not too fast to get the tips in place. After everything was covered I went back and painted some product at the base of each tip and applied a second coat to everything. Twice during the application I added a couple of drops of nail polish remover with acetone to the bottle to thin the product. I let this cure for a day then ran the machine. Everything held fast and it looks almost new! I thought the product was too expensive for what it was, but it is much cheaper than new racks or a new dishwasher, so I can't complain. There was even a little bit of leftover liquid. Even though my racks are white, only the light gray was available when I ordered so I went with that. It is extremely light and the repaired areas are almost unnoticeable. Since using this product I have run the machine a couple dozen times and it still looks great and the repairs are holding up well. I am extremely happy with this purchase. I would buy it again and recommend it to others.Edit 11/6/2023-after 9 months of use (4 loads per week) the caps on the tines are holding up really well. I applied some of the paint to other areas of the basket frame that were rusting and these repairs have not held up well at all. I reapplied once and it didn't take long for rust to break through again. It could be that the paint is not meant to be used alone. If you just have tines that need to be recovered I would still highly recommend this as a fix.

I have a 20-year old Kitchen Aid dishwasher on its last legs. We have well water that has a heavy mineral content. Over the decades, the mineral content has led to calcium deposits on some parts of the dishwasher rack and rust on other parts. There were a couple dishwasher tines that needed the plastic tips installed. I had to use a hack saw to cut one tine so I could put a plastic tip over it. The rack repair liquid was very quick drying and coated the area needing coverage very well. So easy to use my dog could have done the job. Hoping the repair will let me limp along until I replace the dishwasher during summer.

This product seemed to work well for the repair of that damage. USE NOTES: I was pretty diligent about removing heavily corroded prongs with cutting wheel on my grinder before applying this product; also applies more than 1 coat. You may need to trim the caps to appropriate length with a scissors.PROSFunctional fix to annoying corrosion issues.CONSWish it came in better color-match to original vinyl coating, but what the heck, it's inside the dishwasher and nobody is gonna notice anyways.

Don’t buy a new dishwasher rack. Clean all debris from the dishwasher, remove the rusted areas and use Uber Goop. It was easy to apply and saved me over $100.00 I would have spent on a new rack for a dishwasher that works great.

Do you have a crap low-grade (LG) dishwasher purchased by the previous homeowners with a rack rusting in 20 different places? then this product is for you!This product worked great and came with great instructions warning that the product dries quicky in the bottle if left open. Saved my dishwasher rack. I'm so glad we live in an era where this type of product exists. Saved my family a boatload of money.

Super easy to use and seems to do the trick. The vinyl covered by this product cracked and the metal underneath began to rust, so I’m hopeful this slows the process of degradation and gets buys us some time.The color makes it quite clear we’ve done repairs (no match), but that hardly matters if it buys us some time to replace the racks with stainless counterparts.The silicone pegs fit perfectly and, for the price we paid, these seem to be a great value.I’ll check in in a couple months if they don’t hold up to the dishwashing process itself.

I grabbed this product to try to salvage my rusting racks, which cost a fortune to replace. It works, but I'm still a little disappointed. First of all, the amount is minuscule for the price paid, probably about the same amount that you would find in a small bottle of white out. If you are lucky enough to just have a few damaged prongs, then gluing the caps onto the ends works pretty well. But if you have any further damage to your rack, painting the goop onto the damage will have a limited effect. It doesn't cover the rough rust damage very well, so you'll have to cut the wires entirely to get a clean end to cap. If your rack looks like mine and you do this, you'll have barely any rack left. Was hoping for the goop to be thick and plentiful enough to paint over all the damage, but it looks like I'll only be able to cut and cap a handful of prongs. At least it will probably give me an extra year or two of life on my rack, which I guess is good enough.

So far it seems to ok, applied 3 coats on places where the racks where rusting. it is holding up , its been 3 weeks but might have to reapply I guess in another 2 weeks or so.
