Love this sturdy little pot. Used it to melt butter, make a topping for my steak. Doesn't take up much room and will last a lifetime or two.

I've read some reviews that the pot was rough on the inside more so than on the outside. That is definitely true. I've never seen cast-iron quite this rough in texture on the inside or the outside. It's uniform and raised almost like bumps. That being said I don't care. It's cast-iron. That texture is cast in iron it's meant to be used over and over and withstand lots of heat and abuse. The fact that it's a little rough on the inside doesn't affect how it's used and certainly wouldn't affect cooking with it . Funny I bought the same pot in an 8 oz size as well and it's completely smooth like most cast iron inside and out.

its a tiny pot just like it says. dont let the picture fool you. but still it fits my purposes and it seems to be made great.

I didn't order this to melt butter. I ordered it to melt pewter. The silicone brush was a bonus. That said, it's a nice piece of cast iron that should work very well if you season it by the included instructions.

I hate to give a 3 star review, but this pot is SUPER rough on the inside. I have some cheap cast iron pans, and nothing I have is nearly as rough as this one. And strangely enough, the exterior of it is smoother than the inside (which is normally not the case with cast iron).The pot as a whole seems well made and sturdy, but the finish is simply inferior. It does have a nice deeply cut pouring spout (wish there were two spouts….one on each side for lefties and righties).It’s a handy and convenient size for melting butter…better than the microwave because there is no spattering or exploding. I leave it on the stove for that purpose.

I was looking for a good small sauce pot to melt butter and other small batch sauces to brush on food while camping. This little pot does the trick. Keep in mind it is small. It will only hold about 8 oz. so if you need something bigger be aware.
