This is the real tape, it just has an updated logo on the spools.
This is the good tape, it will stick to the boxes. It is pressure sensitive, so you do have to press it down. I have been taping boxes since the 1960's, when we had to wet the tape in a machine (or with a wet sponge at home), and even the wet glue REQUIRED pressure. None of the tape guns apply enough pressure to do anything but start the tape, it will not be firmly affixed until you apply pressure. The crappy tape still peels off, this tape pulls up the cardboard, once proper pressure and curing time occur. This IS the good tape! Is it less sticky than the tape from 15 years ago? Yes, but there is a reason... The old tape glue was slow to set, so it depended on being sticky, but that old glue had a short shelf life, and old tape no longer worked. Scotch improved the glue formula to make it have a longer shelf life. Remember when it was hard to get tape started, and often you had to repeat that over and over when the tape tore? That is because you had expired glue! This glue is easier to start, and it /will/ hold onto the cardboard after some pressure it applied, and a few minutes have passed for the adhesive surface to cure. If you want the old tape that was hard to use, you will have to find a cheap brand that has not updated glue.I pack heavy boxes, I use one strap of tape if it is a good box properly packed, and I do not tape edges.. I only go crazy with the tapf if it is a bad box, and it not being shipped. Also, if you are shipping, if you do it right this tape works... But if you leave loose edges of glue hanging out, then your box might peel itself open when you exposed glue meets another sticky surface or a box with exposed tape glue, and your box will peel itself open. I can't tell you how many time I received a box that had a poor tape bob open itself in the back of the mail truck. My mail person and I have a laugh over that from time to time.It is real, people.... All they did was update the logo.So scotch has been using color codes for years, and they finally made the color mark plaid to tie in with the scotch logo theme. The front label of the multi-pacs still has the blue "heavy duty" marking, but the rolls have the more current blue logo.I have been buying the tape for years, it is still the same tape. Why do they even make other kinds? Because office managers often want the easy-peel tape because they have inappropriate uses for the tape, or they don't want to chip a nail just to work with better tape. I used to deal with such an office manager, and while there I had to buy my own tape, and people shipping things knew to come to me.

The only tape I trust to send love across the country!
There are plenty of packing tape brands out there, but nothing beats Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Tape and I say that as someone who ships care packages all across the country on a regular basis.Whether I’m sending homemade banana bread, pumpkin bread, or chocolate cake to my kids, or mailing treats and little surprises to my mom and dad, this tape is the one thing that gives me total peace of mind. I wrap those boxes tight, sometimes comically tight, but everything arrives perfectly sealed, protected, and intact. My mom will call to let me know the box arrived but then quickly says se needs to wait for one of her Aides to show up so they can help her open it!This tape is strong, sticky, and reliable. I’ve tried other brands in a pinch, but they just don’t hold up because some peel off, some split mid-roll, and most just aren’t sticky enough. Scotch never lets me down. In fact, I even use it at school to hang student posters on concrete walls, and it holds like a dream. The rolls are long-lasting, easy to load into a dispenser, and I always make sure I have a pack of six in my cupboard because you never know when a box of love (and baked goods) needs to go out the door.If you're looking for tape that’s tough, dependable, and built to last, this is it. Scotch truly sticks with you, literally and figuratively.

A Good Tape To Use.
I'm packing up to move so I got this tape to seal my boxes. When I first went to use it, I suddenly had buyer's regret that I didn't get strapping tape. However, after sealing multiple boxes, I can report that this tape is working well. Also, I was marking the boxes as to what room each would be delivered to after the move and found that this tape receives jumbo marking pens well.

So Good So Expen$ive
This Scotch brand tape is the best yet the price is too high. It is thicker and sticks the best. Other cheaper tapes are frustrating to use and while they work they are not the best but they are affordable. It is sad but true.

Strong and Reliable – But a Bit Pricey
This Scotch heavy-duty shipping tape is definitely one of the best in terms of strength and adhesion. It seals boxes securely and doesn’t peel or split easily like some cheaper brands. The clarity is nice, and the rolls are long-lasting. That said, it is more expensive than other options on the market. You're paying for quality, but if you do a lot of packing, the cost can add up. Still, if you want reliability and no hassle, this tape gets the job done.

Switched from Duck Brand to Scotch HD for my Small Business
I recently switched to Scotch from Duck for my small business. One of my biggest complaints about Duck Brand was the tape kept tearing causing wasted product and time. This Heavy Duty Scotch performs very well and has minimal tearing and is STRONG. I tried both this product and the "long lasting" and while both outperformed Duck the HD is now my go to for shipping my orders.
