The Cleargrip has been optimised for UK Double Glazing units of which the standard thickness is 28mm. Use on single glazed units (such as 4mm) is not recommended as the magnetic force would be much too strong and would cause the tool to be too difficult to move.

The Cleargrip has been optimised for UK Double Glazing units of which the standard thickness is 28mm. Use on triple glazed units is not recommended as the magnetic force would be reduced and could cause the tool to function less than optimally.

Q: What's the maximum safe size of window bearing in mind the strength of the magnets could cause the two panes to bend towards each other?

There are no maximum safe window dimensions in regards to height and width and it is perfectly safe to use the Cleargrip on UK double glazing units of any dimensions, provided the thickness is between 20mm and 30mm. The magnets will not cause the glass to move. Thanks for your question!
