Excellen, robust, high value controller for guitar players in mind
Awesome unit. Built strong, breeze to program. It didn't take long to figure out and perfectly versatile. I bought this to replace a Behringer FCB1010. For little bit over twice the price, it's night and day. The FCB1010 is garbage compared to this. Besides cruddy construction, the FCB1010 will not do it for a guitar rig unless you install an UNO chip, and even then it has severe limitations and it's a pain to program, the hardware crapped out out of the box the first time with a faulty power input, and the exchange 10 months later with two burnt LED'S and inability to activate presets until factory reset. This Voodoo Labs controller has different modes of setup and it's tailored to guitar players. Both expression pedals can be assigned to different devices within a single preset. You can name your presets. The list goes on and on. Definitely recommend.

Great Midi Foot Controller
I bought this midi foot controller because it was highly recommended. I am happy with it, but the learning curve for a novice like me has been long and arduous. I am sure I got the right controller, but I wish the manual that came with this foot controller was more user friendly. I've spent a lot of time on the net getting detailed info on how to configure/use this controller. I needed to have more experience with using midi, cc msgs, prg chgs, etc before stepping up to this controller.

Gcx and Gcp are awesome but what a learning curve for me trying to understand midi. Hooking stomp boxes up is extremely easy but understanding midi for FX processor is a pain but not the fault of the units. It's the user. In other words me. Great stuff from Voodoo Labs.

Horrible user manual and way too much time spent trying to dial this thing in
Horrible user manual. Holy waste of time that should be spent playing..Come Voodoo, get someone in house that can write a decent manual. Geez!

Totally Disappointing
I've had mine for not quite two years. It's never traveled at all. It's only been used slightly in a studio environment. It just started acting weird one day. It would start up and work normally for about two minutes. Then it would just start wigging out and stop switching all together. It would stay stuck on the patch that I had last selected.I contacted support, and they tried to help to no avail. I had to spend $50 to ship it back. It got fixed at VooDoo and came back to me in about two weeks. Now it's worse than it was when I sent it in. It won't even come up to a normal function. The reason I'm so pissed about it is that by the time you spend all the money and time to build a rack full of pedals with multiple power supplies, all Mogami cables, etc., it's up to about $1300-- not including the pedals. Is it the GCX? Is it the Ground Control? No clue. If I want it to get back to being usable, $429 for which? Both? There's got to be something more reliable than this.

Hey, wrong product title.
Just so everyone is clear, this isn't a Ground Control Pro, it's a Commander. At least Amazon got the picture right. This price would be a steal for a Ground Control Pro, so it makes sense that that's not what it is. Focus, people!

Must-have controller for the Voodoo Lab GCX Guitar Audio Switcher.
There's not a lot of point in getting the Voodoo Lab GCX unit without also getting this foot controller. Programming via foot switches is predictably clunky, but you don't have to do it often. Once you get it set up, it's a joy to use.
