Easy to use cake cutter with handy storage
This cake cutter tool is a breeze to use and made cutting 8-inch cakes so much easier. It fit perfectly on my 12-inch knife and allowed for clean, even slices every time. I also love that it comes with a storage container to keep everything neat and clean. Great tool for anyone who loves baking and wants to make their cake-cutting process effortless. Highly recommend!

Make sure your knife is big enough
So, I tried to use these to level some 8 inch rounds with a regular bread knife from a typical kitchen set. They do work, but I had to buy a much longer knife to be able to use these since once added to the blade of a usual 8-10 inch knife, there's only enough space to cut a 6 inch cake. So if you plan to use it for anything larger, you need a bigger knife to use these.

Clean cut
The media could not be loaded. Cuts cakes very well and easily. I like it.

Misleading image.
I should have been wary when I couldn't find anything to show an actual measurement (or if there is one, I missed it), but the image is deceptive, but obviously using a much thinner layer of cake than anyone would ever make.At its tallest setting, it cuts about a 1" thick layer. The setting they show in the image would, at best, cut about a 1/2" layer.Probably keeping it because it was cheap, but wouldn't buy again!

Make sure you have a long enough knife
This is the best option I have found to cut cakes. The only caveat is that you need a really long serrated knife. I'd say 14"is the minimum. Consider you will lose at least 1"on each side to clamp the plastic pieces to. If you want to have any freedom of movement for the cutting and you have a 9" round cake, a 14" knife leaves you 3". I would probably get an 18" knife. Only used once, so can't comment on sturdiness.
