USB-C Female Input to Slim Tip Rectangle Power PD Charge Converter for Thinkpad Series E440 E450 E550 E560 T430 T440 T440S X250 L460,for Lenovo Yoga Series

I bought this to try to use a USB-C PD adapter to power my Lenovo Legion S7 instead of having to take its large 230w power adapter when I travel. I wasn't seeing more than 65w delivered, even though it claims to handle 100w. I asked the seller why that was and the response I got was: "The power data is pending by your PC input config.."I didn't like that answer, so I did some research and bought a USB tester to confirm (FNIRSI FNB58). The TLDR of it is that the adapter is working perfectly, although slightly misleadingly advertised as 100w, but my laptop won't pull more power from it despite it telling the laptop that 90w is available.On the USB side of the adapter it is requesting 20v at 5A from the USB PD adapter. You need to make sure your cable supports this as the ones that do have a chip inside them called an E-marker, which tell the USB PD adapter the volt/current they're rated for. There are USB-C cables that:- handle various wattages of power delivery or don't- handle 480 mbps or 5 gbps or 10 gbps or 20 gbps data rates- handle videoAll of those require different pins and depending on what cable you get, they might support different subsets of those features. If you want one that handles it all, look into cables from the brand Fasgear.On the Lenovo side of the adapter, the Lenovo device that it plugs into can tell how much power is available based on the resistance between the contacts. I'd put a link here, but I think Amazon filters those out. If you google "Thinkwiki Power Connector", you should see the link I'm referring to. I measured 560 ohms, which is close enough to the 550 ohm spec that tells the device 90w is available.Thus, if you google for these adapters, all the ones that claim 100w are lying slightly as that's not a power level that Lenovo uses. And for some reason, 90w is available but my Lenovo Legion S7 won't pull more than 65w. It's basically only using it for the runtime power in balance or quiet modes (performance mode isn't available with this) and doesn't charge the battery unless it's sleeping or off.

I wish I would have ordered this sooner. Works great, has a perfect angle to fit power cable in the away better than original. Bang for your buck!

I got two of these adapters and both of them are completely unusable. When connected no matter what power supply I'm using, they both constantly blip in and out. Can't keep the PC I'm working on powered for more than 5 seconds.

This connector will allow you to plug USB-C charger into rectangular power plug found in older (pre-2020) Lenovo laptops. You might want to use the rectangular plug even when your laptop has both, because USB-C port is not very sturdy and can bend/break if you use it for a long time, or when you accidentally yank the charger. USB-C plug is typically soldered onto the motherboard so if it breaks you need to get a whole new board, while the rectangular plug is much more sturdy and can be replaced.This connector is L-shaped, making the cable run parallel to the side of the laptop, significantly reducing bending of the cable.A good buy, wish it were a bit cheaper.

I tried to use for a docking station but it'll only charge it won't communicate.

I tried this while evaluating different solutions, and it works with Lenovo Yoga C940-15IRH if using Anker 736 Charger (Nano II 100W) and Anker WS7DV22GS1TL C-to-C 100W Cable (10 ft). Charges reliably up to 80 W.(Note that it does require a high-power supply and a high-power cable, as above, or it will repeatedly cycle on and off.)The LED is a nice indicator that it's actually powered and, when using the right cable, it is lit continuously and will carry 3.8 A at 20 V continuously.However I preferred the flexible adapter BEYEE USB Type C Female Input to Square Slim-Tip Power (11.0x4.5mm) PD B0BP9Y2134, so I returned this.

Originally bought a different style of these adapters (ASIN: B08ND2XFJB). It works exactly like this one but is not only more expensive, but has less features than this "Tpenod" one.In my case it charges but only when the laptop is turned off. But i dont particularly fault the adapter since my W541 requires at least 135W power supplies or more to charge while it is on.When the laptop is turned off, it charges at 45W. I dont think even OEM chargers charge above 45W when laptops are off but i could be wrong.Again i have to re-iterate my Thinkpad W541 basically requires at least a 135W charger while its on to even begin to charge.Anyway if i had a laptop that could take a 65W or 90W charger and needed a USB-C PD adapter, this would be my ticket.-almost entirely made of metal, or at least it seems like it is-right angle so it doesn't easily snap off or put stress if i bend it in a weird way-LED indicator on both sides to show that it is workingIf you have a Thinkpad that needs a 90W slim-tip charger or less to start charging, i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this adapter.However if you have a workstation-class Thinkpad like a P51 or W541 or similar, that needs a 135W or more, then this won't charge it while the laptop is turned on and being used. Although it will charge it at 45W while it is turned off so its useful for me for something at least.
