Excellent! Cell Phone Acts Like a Landline
This is great! Easy to use! Now my cell phone functions as both a cell phone and a virtual landline! My cell phone connects to this via Bluetooth, which connects to four phone extensions in my house that used to be connected to landline. But my four phone extensions now appear to be landlines, when in reality, they are connected to my cell phone. But you would never know it. My house phones virtually act exactly as they had before when they used to be connected to landline. Here's what I like:1) cell phone is always plugged in and charged (80% charged for battery protection)2) no need to remember to charge cell, it's always plugged in3) I rarely have to touch my cell phone, unless I leave the house4) Can still take my cell phone with me if I leave the house5) Caller ID transfers from cell phone to house phone displays6) don't need to worry about dropping or losing cell phone7) one house phone has its answer machine turned on8) during power outage, cell phone (at 80% charge) still works, while house extensions are deadCaveats:1) be sure to have cell phone battery protection set to 80%2) house phone answer machine picks up first if # of rings is set to less than cell3) house phones will be dead when cell phone leaves the house4) cell phone answer service will work when outside of the house5) house phone answer machine will not work while cell phone is not in the house6) caller ID usually only displays phone # (not the name, unless name is saved)7) caller ID will display names on house phones of those saved in cell phone contacts listSo this is the best of both worlds! It allows my house phones to function as landline most of the time, but I can also take my cell phone with me when I leave the house.

Going back in time
Device works as expected. Needed to update the firmware but was easy to do from their website using my phone. Sound quality is good for calls and other people can hear me without any echoes. Takes only a couple minutes to setup.

Superb Interface Between Cell Phone and Wired Phone System
The land line service in our area is deteriorating rapidly as the carrier seeks permission to stop providing service. And, land line pricing is loaded with lots of fees and taxes. So, we ported the landline number to a cellphone number, saving money and getting much better service. But, we wanted our wired telephones in the house to act the same as when a land line was connected. If we just bluetooth connected the new cellphone to the base station phone, the base station display reported “no telephone line connected.” And, the sound was not all that great on the wired phone. We considered a less expensive interface device that seems to be a popular choice on Amazon, but found that reviewers were not fond of the sound quality. So, we bought the more expensive Xtreme Technologies XLink BT HD - note that this is the High Definition audio version of the XLink. It works superbly! While I would say it is not “high definition audio” in the truest sense of those words, the audio on the house phone is essentially the same as directly on the cell phone. And, from the perspective of the house base station, the XLink looks just like a land line when connected to the “Line In” port. While XLink BT HD may be more expensive than other options, it functions extremely well. I am completely satisfied that the perfomance is well worth the price. Some reviewers have expressed concern about audio quality and there is mention of a hiss in one review. As a (now retired) electrical engineer, I would caution buyers to thoughtfully consider their installation of the device. Under-cabinet fluorescent lighting can sometimes introduce a hiss, buzz or hum in telephone wiring. Sometimes the phone wiring in a house may pick-up stray signals due to poor installation practices. And, pay attention to the proximity to other electronic devices that may be emitting radio frequencies that may interfere with, or over-ride, the bluetooth connection to the XLink. If you are not happy with the sound quality, tinker with your setup before giving-up on the XLink. So far, I have found it to be an excellebt product. And, for the record, I have absolutely no interest in, or affiliation with, Xtreme Technologies. I just found this to be a remarkably good product in what is often a sea of cheaply made, mediocre devices.

Fast easy setup, works great! Two thumbs up! 👍👍
I opened the box, glanced at the quick setup guide, and was up and running in under 5 minutes. It's brilliant. This box pairs with your mobile phone using Bluetooth. (Just like using a mobile phone in your car if that helps to understand it.) A regular phone (like you probably have in a closet somewhere) plugs directly into this box. Done. It just works. We got this box and a big button speakerphone for a family member who had a stroke, can no longer use her mobile phone without assistance. Now she can make calls and get calls the old-fashioned way, like we did for decades. Behind the scenes this box controls the mobile phone. She doesn't have to touch the mobile or even look at it. We turned the ringer off on the mobile phone, since the regular old phone rings just like a landline. No monthly fees for this box. And the mobile phone can still be used as usual if desired. It's fast, easy, and works fine. Highly recommended!
