Ideal for anyone regularly taking daily medication although there are a couple of caveats.
Through no fault of mine or anyone else the fickle hand of fate has dealt me a a set of cards that includes the need to take a variety of medication every day with a depressingly regular routine without which I am left immobile and bed bound. Enter the weekly pill organiser, or dosette box, an aid for parcelling up pills and placing them in a container for dispensing. Of all those I've seen the Anabox is the best one by far although there are a couple of minor drawbacks that I'll come to at the end of the review. The pill organiser consists of seven trays inside a rectangular box that's open at both ends. The box has a clear top that makes it easy to see which days have been taken and therefore when it's due to be refilled. It also displays each day's tray of pills and tablets through a sliding clear plastic front panel on each one so it's easy to see which set of tablets have been taken and if any particular dose has been missed. There are four aspects that put this box ahead of others in my opinion. It's construction, the materials used, its size and it's ease of maintenance and use.The construction of the box puts it ahead of others. The individual trays are strong, rigid and consistent in their size and build and the clear front panels allow one set of tablets to be dispensed in order without risk of accidentally releasing the next set. The same goes for the frame in which these trays sit. In addition it has a clear compartment on the bottom of the box with a preprinted matrix which can be used to record the individual medicines and their doses for each of the slots in the trays. Multiple dosette boxes are alsoWith regard to materials from what I can see it's made entirely of ABS plastic. ABS is a strong and durable material whose big advantage over polystyrene, which is initially very similar to ABS in it's characteristics, is that it is not as susceptible to becoming brittle over time which leads to failure of parts through cracks and breakages. ABS is also highly resistant to being dropped. Indeed I have dropped and knocked this off the bedside table a couple of times now without any signs of damage or any of the trays losing their contents. The size was also a key factor in choosing this box - each compartment can easily hold about a dozen medium sized tablets of capsules (maybe slightly more) - so however many are required at a given time, this box meets the needs of 99.99% of people. The box is also very easy to use and restock with a clear sliding front plate that has the day of the week and four compartments for regular medications and one marked for PRN/as required medicines. There are only two downsides that I can see with this box. Firstly sliding the clear front plate across the trays can be easy on some but initially very stiff on others. This could pose a problem for those who do not have either the strength or dexterity to manipulate a troublesome tray. Secondly because of the way each compartment is exposed in turn, missing one set of tablets (midday for example) makes extracting the following sets (Evening and Night) a bit tricky at times. Other than these minor drawbacks the design does help me immensely in taking medication on time and making sure I know what I've taken and what I haven't.

At last a pill dispenser with the patient in mind!
This came boxed and would make a great present for someone on a lot of medication or someone that has to take regular medication. It's a very good way of ensuring medications are organised and taken at the right time. What a brilliant design! It is made of a strong plastic, the boxes work exceptionally well to replace the days in a system of rotation. I usually leave till the Sunday night and refill for the week again. The individual pill boxes have five sections. Width 2cm x length 3.5cm and depth of each box is 2cm. The first one is slightly larger for more meds - Width 3cm x length 3.5cm, depth 2cm, morning, noon, evening and night and when required. The clear plastic lid glides effortlessly till the last compartment and stops. This is particularly good with people with arthritic hands. To get the meds from the when required section you can slide the other way, once again it stops just to allow access to the when req. meds. You can also slide the lid completely off, It is best to submerge in soapy water to wash before use, making sure it is completely dry before use.I am so pleased that there is something like this available for people that take many medications at various times and have a section for 'when required' meds. As this you don't find on a lot of the usual pill boxes. This has been designed very well. It's clear concise easy to use. I chose the rainbow design so even if there is slight chance of confusion the colours are easy to follow, of the rainbow. 'Brain fog!'You can take the days medication out with you and have your tablets available when they are due and those ones you need to take when required. On the back there is a place that all medication can be written and when it should be taken at what time and if required before or after food. You can photo copy this to make more copies for your box. There is No Braille on this case so would be unsuitable for the blind or poor sighted. If you are anything like me or know someone who has to take many tablets, this would make a fantastic gift. It's brilliant, wished I'd have found this sooner!I would highly recommend this product.I work very hard to do detailed and helpful reviews. If I miss anything please let me know, or if you have a question about the item please ask.If you like my review, please click the button that says it was helpful. I promise, you'll make my day! :)Thank you for your time, Elle x
