Q: Can this pick up gems ?

I use Tacky Wax to hang 1/12 scale miniature pictures in shadowboxes. I don't know how heavy your gems are but I have found when Tacky wax is applied on one smaller object and then that object is pressed against another (using an amount of Tacky wax that is suitable) the two objects tend to stick together. I am guessing (with the above information) that if you were to apply a small ball of Tacky wax onto something (for example after taking the sharp tip off a toothpick) and then use that to pickup a smaller gem (using abit of pressure to get the two to adhere to one another it could work. I will add if doing this you might have to wipe any very small amounts of Tacky wax off the gem. That said, when rearranging my pictures I don't ever remember having to wipe any residue from the Tacky wax off anything (wall or picture backing). It's a great product. I hope this info helps.
