Great little food caddy
I wasn't sure if this would be big enough when ordering but although it's very neat and takes up little counter space, it actually holds a good amount. It's much nicer to look at than my previous one. It's well made and I especially like the inclusion of a handle and the inner container. I do have to talk about the lid.. firstly, ignore the instructions that say that it can be separated from the hinges. The lid and hinge part is one unit. I spent quite a while wrestling with it to get the lid off the first time. The easiest way for me, is to open the lid then sort of pull/twist in a sort of clockwise or anti clockwise direction rather than straight up. The lid should come off quite easily that way.

Excellent
I've had my old kitchen food bin for ages - it was nothing special but it did the job. Then, during the very hot weather we had in the summer I noticed fruit flies hovering around quite a bit and then, on opening it to empty on rubbish day, I was horrified to find the bin was full of tiny maggots!!!! I hadn't left it open and I've no ide how the flies were getting in but obviously the lid wasn't sealing and I wasn't having that happen again so out it went.My daughter has this bin in white so I knew what I was getting and she said she'd had no problems with fruit flies so I bought it in black (it was three quid cheaper than the white one!). I was pleased to note that the lid fits well and so far I've had no recurrent issues with the wriggly little horrors. I was pleased to note that the bin is smaller than my old one - which means that there is less chance of smells developing as it needs emptying more often. I'd recommend this because it does what it's supposed to do and looks good; it's easy to clean and it also has a separate container inside for the rubbish which I like a lot.

Great Little Caddy - With One Small Annoying Feature
I love the overall design and appearance of this white caddy. It’s quite small at 2l but more than big enough for my household. Easy to keep clean with a lift out inner ‘bucket’ (grey). The inner bucket sits snugly inside the caddy and this holds the liner bag in place securely. So what’s the catch? Quite literally the hinge for the lid. That’s the catch. It sits on the inner bucket and clicks the bucket into place when you replace it after emptying. The hinge makes it very fiddly to get the inner bucket out. I have to prise it out from under the hinge. I know it doesn’t look like much but it’s difficult because there’s nothing to grip and very annoying. I imagine that it could be an issue if you had impaired mobility in your hands. But then perhaps it’s just me! I’ll persevere with it for time being because I don’t want to waste money on buying another. But I can see that at some time in the future I’ll either get fed up with nearly ripping out my (very short) nails every day or the hinge will snap. It’s just a question of who snaps first. Me or the hinge. Minus 1 ⭐️ because of the hinge.

Excellent Kitchen Bin
Ideal size for use on a kitchen work top. Very good quality product with a removable "bin". Can get loads of food waste, tea bags etc into this caddy and you can shut the lid. As the bin is removable from the body it means that it is very east to clean after emptying. Is much better than using discarded takeaway containers. I bought this after seeing it at my sisters house and I think its great. Would recommend

Excellent.
It’s perfect except that the instructions for removing the lid are misleading. It’s really very simple and easy if you just open the lid and then simply lift the lid complete with the hinge component vertically upwards as one unit. No twisting or effort required. 😊I had an oxo one before and this lid is removed in much the same way. I think this one is much better however as it’s much easier to clean and wash and the removable inner caddy makes it simple to hide the overhang of the food waste bag. 10/10

Great
The media could not be loaded. Really handy! I like the shape and white colour. It’s easy to wash. Capacity is just right for me. Teabags, lemon peels and other peels plus some other little paper bits. But as another reviewer stated it’s a bit tricky to remove the internal bit to be able to empty it and wash it.I eventually found a trick. I squeeze the internal bit close to the hinges inwards whilst pressing the hinges outwards and release it that way.I prefer not to use any small bin bags and it goes straight into the bigger bin when full. We don’t do any composting but if you have a garden with compost area this would be perfect.I mainly bought it as a handy small bin on top of the counter because our big bin is inconveniently placed (due to the size and layout of the kitchen). It seals very well.
