Q: Using for a display cabinet, are they shiny like the first picture or dull looking like the third picture?

They are yellow, a bit like brass but is not even coated as the yellow turns reddish at parts. Personally I would not use them if are visible.

Q: Although the fittings are simple, the ad refers to 'instructions' which make the fitting better. No instructions were supplied, are there any?

I got these to replace a set I already had so no instructions were needed, but no, no instructions were supplied with the fittings ..... try YouTube 👍

Q: Do these have two small triangular teeth on them that prevent it being screwed flush to the bed frame? If so, how have people overcome this?

The male parts do have small pointed teeth, about parallel to the outer screw holes. The idea is that you locate the part then tap with a hammer to the surface, then screw in place. The reason is, that once located they stay in this position before screws are added. We supply fitting instructions with order.
