Yes, probably, depends how much is exposed. Up to 4/5/6 inches should be ok.

Q: How long are the actual sections

Apologies on holiday at the moment so can't measure but would guesstimate about 500/600mm long. Done the job and good value for 💰

Q: Are these pliable enough to get a 90 degree bend? I want to use them on the side of a shed room, but they will have wood batoned onto it.

Yes. The edge of my roof has cracked on the side which is mostly hit by very strong winds, I nailed through strips of wood through them into the baton, simply weighted down the top edge. The two bend lines give good bending ability.
