As you'd hope it does give a temperature in about 10 secs. Fairly accurate but it does go up by a couple of points of a degree if you repeat it - though taking an average of 3 readings is still less time than most other thermometers.

This thermometer does not take an accurate temperature reading nor does it do it in 10 seconds but much longer! My 8 months baby has recently been ill and even I could clearly feel that her forehead was too hot the thermometer gave me two different readings within 2 minutes of each other of 36.5 and 37 degrees. I took my 'adult' thermometer out and it gave me a 38 degrees reading which was definitely correct as baby was obviously unwell.I would not recommend as readings cannot be trusted!

Honest review is not possible as when it arrives the battery was dead and I haven't managed to replace it yet. Bit dissatisfied that battery would already be dead.

Old fashioned but value for money

When I bought it, I thought it would measure temperature within 10 sec. However, I did not realize that it takes 10sec only when used in rectal... hm..hm... so it was my mistake, as it is clearly written in the description. When used under-arm, you would need to wait up to 5 min. I checked with another trustworthy thermometer, otherwise it shows temperature lower than actual.
