Q: Is the sponge absorbent? (I want to use it to wipe up excessive water, and I do not want to bend down to the floor.)

No, I don’t think it will do the trick. I use it to clean the shower pan after I spray it with a cleaner.

Q: Why is there a proposition 65 warning on this item?

I believe it is aimed for customers in the California market since Prop 65 was passed in State of CA. Not certain ... just my best take. Suzanne

Q: Why does package say cancer causing?

No idea. I tried to return it once I saw the packaging says it causes cancer and Amazon won't accept my return. All these people using it do not even read the warnings.

Q: How do you sanitize this sponge if you cannot replace it?

It's still usable I took the screen off now it's a solid sponge 🧽
