initial review: not a lot to add here. i mostly use this for the card reader. it has a micro sd slot that doesn’t require an adapter. so that’s useful. i rarely use the device to spin a disc, but now i can, because cases these days don’t even come with bays for internal disc drives.5 months later: I tried to open a blu ray with makemkv. no dice. tried another disc. no dice. optical drive might as well be dead to me. it's a glorified card reader. I haven't bothered trying to burn a disc. I have no interest in burning optical media, tbh. turns out this was a waste of money.

I have been needing an external Blu-ray drive for a while now and I'm so glad to have gone with this option as it has all of the features I was looking for. This Blu-Ray drive has good quality and multiple features that I can access when looking through DVDs. The fact that it's USB type-c is very helpful when I'm looking to connect the drive to my computer. I don't even need a tv to look through all of my old files anymore which is very convenient. I really like how it has this feature so that I can view all of my DVDs straight through my laptop. The base of the drive is strong which is great for my traveling needs. The 5 ports on this device allow for a smooth connection with my other devices and I found it very useful when actively looking through my files. Overall, it is a high quality device at a fair price point that has worked well for me without any issues.

More computers nowadays don't come with a CD/DVD Drive, much less Bluray capability !That's where the external "Wbacon BlurayDisc" reader comes in quite handy! I was trying to use it to play movies to my projector. Don’t work that way. Going to my PC

I’m a glutton for punishment, so when the drive didn’t want to work for me initially, I kept messing with it until it did. It’s still a little picky, sometimes not wanting to read a disc on the first try, and giving me an error on the first disc I burnt despite working fine a moment later, but all in all it’s pretty good. Next time, I’ll probably spend the money on a better drive, like the LG external burner I had before this, but as long as this one’s working I’m satisfied. Just be warned you may have to put some time an effort into it before it works as well as you’d like it to.

Plugged it in, followed the instructions.Sometimes my pc would see the drive, sometimes it would not. If I was lucky enough to see the Wbacon DVD Burner, sometimes it would say it was a DVD drive sometimes it would treat it like an external hard drive. Got fed up, returned it!If I connected external hard drives to the Blu-ray drive the pc would always see them and I could open files on them.I am running a standard Windows 11 pc, nothing fancy, straight out of the box!

I checked the item was on and working well, I bought this tool for my younger brother, when completing college assignments he always uses it with a laptop to help improve laptop performance.
