Does this sticker cover up the "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" warning or do I need to remove those letters before adding sticker?

Those letters are etched in the glass. They’re NOT decals. You can put these right over top of the factory mirrors !!

Will they come off cleanly or if I try to take it off will it leave sticky stuff on the mirror?

Sorry, I haven't tried to take them off. But they don't meld to the mirror only sticky. So if you just clean your mirror afterwards, it should be smooth as Angelina Jolie's chest.

How does it work? Do you put the sticker then remove it and the letters stay on like a tattoo?

Yes, remove the backing paper, place the sticker, rub sticker to help transfer to mirror and then peel away to leave just the letters.
