Basically this is an Oreck clone, at a much better price. Unlike most Oreck clones, it's a copy of modern high power Orecks, not the old fashioned Classic Orecks that just pickup surface dirt.Our house has a good variety of flooring, flat commercial carpet in the hall, low pile in one bedroom, soft plush in another bedroom, medium pile in the last bedroom, medium-high in the living room, and loose laid sheet vinyl in the kitchen. The living room and soft plush in one bedroom can be problem carpets for some vacuums, stalling brushrolls and/or making a vacuum nearly impossible to push.The Vacmaster did well in every room, I used high speed on every carpet and it never stalled, wasn't difficult to push, and the reverse chevron brushroll did a surprisingly good job digging out pet hair and dirt, and fluffing/grooming the carpets. The edge cleaning was adequate, but not amazing, I've seen better and I've seen worse. Low speed did well on the sheet vinyl. The squeegee kept anything from kicking back at my feet, and the pickup was good without the suction being high enough to "grab" the vinyl, which has been a problem in the past.It's no Kirby, but it's no old fashioned Classic Oreck either. Classic Orecks absolutely lock to our problem carpets, the Vacmaster practically glided over them. The grooming and pickup is impressive, especially for something so cheap and so lightweight. It's not all roses, the plastics used are obviously on the cheaper side, the cord is cheap and stiff, and the headlight could be brighter, but for the price, those things aren't really surprising.End of the day, it's a lightweight, well performing, basic bagged upright, with no hose or attachments, at a bargain price. That's a rarity these days. Add a Dustbuster or cheap canister vacuum for furniture and above floor cleaning, and you are set for years of easy quick easy cleaning.

I really like the vacuum cleaner a lot The price was reasonable and it's lightweight and I don't have to have it where it's bulky and my closet., I also like the fact that it has a no touch bag bag system that releases right into the trash can I wish I could show you a video of it I'm working but I would definitely recommend this vacuum I even went so far to get the bags which are a reasonable price on the vacuum and also has a place where it tells you that you need to change that and also that it tells you guys getting halfway full which is something very nice It can go on carpets it can go on hard work floors and it has extensions where it can reach up high in the corners of your home it's also has detachments where you can use them on your blinds I really really would recommend this to all my friends and family because the price is very reasonable for the quality of the product that you are getting from the vacuum cleaner I am very happy with it I am so glad that I purchased it., I also forgot to mention that the extension cord is long so you have enough room to vacuum I did my room and my son's room I put the cord in the bathroom., it's very easy to move around It has a swivel so all you have to do is turn your rest a little and it will go in the attraction that you want it to it's also easy to clean.

My inherited 30+ y.o. Oreck stopped sucking, so I replaced it with this Vacmaster. This "Oreck knockoff" is a pretty strong sucker. Assembly is easy. I tested it on my carpeted steps. The Oreck could never get into the 90 degree corner of the steps head on, but this Vacmaster can. Good headlight. Not a great transitioner from throw carpets to bare floor. The throws want to come with the machine so you have to turn it off to leave the throws in place. My next test will be the kitchen floor. The Oreck could never fit under the base of the cabinets which always irritated me. I gave it 4 stars because of the sucking capability, however the cord, and the way the cord attaches to the unit is sub par. The cord is not unpluggable from the unit as the Oreck's cord is. For the price point it's the purchase. Sound is not too loud. I say buy it!

The vacuum cleaner was easy to assemble out of the box, and ran quite well. The brush roll was installed backwards by the factory so that the dirt shot out the side. It was the bag holder that wouldn’t stay closed, filling the outer bag with dirt, Which is the reason I returned it.

After many years of all the gimmicks and bagless vacuums I finally learned my lesson. My husband and I were suffering from more and more allergy symptoms so I decided to go back to the basics and buy a bagged vacuum cleaner. I am so glad I did. This little gem gets my carpets clean and my whole house smells better even my husband noted that. It is great not to have to empty dirty vacuums and mess with gross filters. It is nice and light weight and has a nice hose stretch to reach high places. It is not loud. It has a nice light on it no gimmicks just clean. The nice thing also is my vacuum cleaner looks pretty not gross from a dirty looking dust bin which is something that bothered me with bagless.

I am happy with my purchase. This vacuum is very similar to the Oreck which I had for many years. This vacuum cleaner is quality made and I expect the same good service from it from years to come. It does an excellent job on wood floors and tight carpets which is what I have.

Bought this over a year ago for my business. Lightweight, easily transported, great suction! How ever with great suction, it clogs way to easily, the suction hoses are too small for the suction power. I do not recommend this for any household with dogs and high shedding cats. I personally have cats and hard wood floor, works great. But for my clients homes with all flooring carpeting with dogs... I DO NOT recommend. This is more for power sweeping when you need to save time sweeping hard wood floors and some medium rugs, not recommend for heavy carpeting.
