Perfect replacement for Plex Server!
Bought this refurbished Dell Optiplex 9020 to replace my old Plex server PC, the i7-4770 was what attracted me and it works great, and the SSD makes it very fast, especially for booting. I can't comment on how it is for gaming and such, however there seems to be space for a discrete graphics card (would be best to check the dell website for confirmation).I noticed a few reviews commenting on how "dirty" and "badly refurbished" some of the PC's on this page are, which made me a little sceptical, however I was sure to take the lid off as soon as I got the PC and everything was spotless, it almost looked brand new (no dust etc). The SSD was also securely screwed in and installed properly. One thing I must comment on, is that the SSD was set to the "Master Boot Record" (mbr) partition style (rather than the more modern "GUID" Partition style (GPT). This was causing issues with my 8tb external hard drive, however it was quickly sorted by changing the partition style from MBR to GPT (you can use windows command or a program such as AOMEI etc, it's not too difficult, I promise!!). Although I found this to be a bit annoying, the MBR partition style may not affect all users, just something that I thought was a little annoying.Overall though, very impressed with this PC and how well refurbished it is, along with the generous 1 year warranty (most refurbs come with about 25 seconds warranty).

Mine worked and fills it's revised role, but it's not for gaming.
TL;dr "if it arrives in good shape, build condition and activates, it's a great bargain. Just don't expect to get a Decent LP Videocard in one."Bought this to replace my Front Room PC (I do not watch Broadcast\Cable television) that was old when I connected it to my TV 5 Years ago. That was Gen 1(!) Core i5 with 8GB RAM a a 2GB Nvidia 210. It would stutter (audio and visual) when running heavily scripted webpages (Virtually everything nowadays), Youtube etc. I bought this to replace and possibly put an Nvidia GTX1050 LP in it as this version of i7 is the oldest you should choose if you want to even think about more modern games. Received the unit, meh packaging but acceptable. Opened up, like many here have done. It wasn't 'deep cleaned' but was acceptable. No Santas beard or anything like that. My devices seemed to be mounted correctly. Good. Switch on and have a look-see. Removed the AVG that was on and changed the 'Customer' account, looks ok. Cheap Wifi Dongle supplied with the device. Meh, though did successfully end up using the dongle on an old box i'm running a PRTG Server on in LAN-less part of the house on Server 2008R2. Activation of product worked without issue for me. Is this normal or luck, going on what others have posted? Updated Win10 checke installed apps. All good. Disappointed that it is just TOO small to install 1 of the only 2 decent SFF video cards that you can buy. I tried the smaller first, the GTX1050. Will not fit, yet both that and the slightly larger GTX1650 LP fir into my Elitedesk G1 system and a more modern ASUS XC780. Tight but fit. Not in this one so Gaming is completely out of the question. You want that in an SFF? Get an HP unit or a more modern case device from a 'name'. Having said all that, the machine has 8GB RAM (single Crucial Stick in slot 4! lol) a spare Workhorse NVidia NVS 310 (only 512MB) alongside an SSD means it effortlessly displays any page(s) quickly and accurately. It is no longer an HTPC for me. I just use it as a PLEX Server, files stored on a NAS, and it is still underused. I might install the Hyper-V role and see if i could use it for 'junk' testing as it's effectively overkill for current use (It sits in my Kitchen in a small unit so it's used for viewing\listening everyday).**SUMMARY**These machines are bargains if: 1. You get a reputable Seller that supplies what they say, and in the condition they state. 2. You don't expect the moon on a stick. It's an older box so Don't expect things like Bluetooth and Wireless built-in, though cheap dongles can alleviate. A lot of tte devices only have 2 USB 3.0 as it wasn't ubiquitous then as it is now, and it's 1st generation USB 3.0 as well. 3. Don't expect too much expandability beyond RAM size and HDD options. Even then, consider what HDD's you can stuff in there. It is so before the age of NVMe and m.2 don't even think without looking at an expansion card but then what's the size of that card given limited space etc, etc. 4. As I said earlier, too small for a decent Videocard. SFF PC's are limited by space, and for me this one more so.

Check the details of the specification.
I had a bit of a nightmare when I purchased this computer, don't get me wrong the computer is great but not the spec I thought I was getting. When contacting the seller they responded with a simple its the system you ordered but it wasn't. I wrote a poor review and guess what I had a call to apologise and offered me a full refund, but I wanted the computer they said it was, they admitted that the specification was wrong and it would be too costly to provide that machine. Since I had it a few days I had got used to it and in fact really liked it. I asked if they would refund anything and they offered me £10, I really couldn't be bothered but the next thing resolved it for me as I said I didn't want the £10 and to give to the NHS, I was shocked when the young lady said I will give £10 to as its a good cause. For me this was a better outcome than getting the machine I thought I was getting. So the machine is great, it comes with win10 pro and avg antivirus and few other little bits. Watch out for the small usb dongle for wifi, I nearly threw it away. The spec I got is good and to be honest the 480gb ssd hard drive is not really a big issue as I just so happened to have a 250gb ssd and connected it by using the usb3 connection. Im really happy with the machine and for the money its great, they can come with a few nicks but mine was absolutely spot on no marks. I also bought a 27inch monitor to use with this machine and beware that you well need a display port type connector as my computer didn't have a hdmi connector so you may need to order a lead for it. Other than that I can't fault it, I registered it with Dell and they know how to update machines their update software despite being an older machine is great. Im a Mac man and Dell easily operate as good as Apple.
