These HW 1:43 lines are great!
Any diecast car hobbyists would absolutely enjoy Hot Wheels 1:43 scale. The latest are great and look stunning. The first set like the GT3 RS sat too high but the latest one are on point!

Expensive
This should cost under 15 usd, then it would be 5 stars. The car is very good looking, but these things are so overpriced that it is not worth buying unless it is a car you truly like.

Okay as a toy, but not so okay as a serious collectible
The problem is have with this specific Hot Wheels product is one of accuracy in scale reproduction of the Real Deal. As a 1/43 scale collector, at this size that's one serious bit of criteria that's kinda important. And unfortunately this one doesn't really have it.The front 2/3rds of the car isn't too bad, but the rear 1/3rd is where this as a model falls down. The upper portion where the c-pillar meets the roof and the fenders is just shaped all wrong. This is probably fine if Mattel is truly marketing the car as a toy (which in the grand scheme, it is), but as a reasonably accurate reproduction and adult collectible it's just not all that acceptable given the relatively large 1/43 scale of the model. It should've been accurate in its representation of the real car, which given the McLaren F1's status in real world car culture DESERVES that attention to precise detail. A car that regularly changes hands at 20 to 25 million dollars US these days really should get that sort of respect, regardless if it's a toy (bravo, Kinsmart) or has a pretense of being a serious collectible. 2 1/2 stars. Do better next time, Mattel.
